DragonCon Report- Atlanta, GA
August 31st
, 2002

beforethedarktimes.com is proud to present highlights from Dragon Con 2002 in Atlanta, Georgia! Many familiar Star Wars names were present at
the gathering, including Peter Mayhew, Jeremy Bulloch, Jerome Blake, Kenny Baker, Timothy Zahn, and many more..

The entire event spanned 2 hotels in the busy city of Atlanta. The weather was somewhat hazy and overcast, but its dismal effects were easily forgotten as you entered the hotels. Upon entering, there were people dressed in costume as far as the eye could see, children (both big and small) running in every direction, utter scifi mayhem.. The Con left no stone unturned in the realm of science fiction, covering everything from the old SHAZAM! TV series, right on up to Lord Of The Rings and, of course, Episode II: Attack of The Clones.

I was present for the Saturday duration of the Con (8/31/02), and all were continually enveloped in a whirlwind of toy dealers, game demonstrators, autograph booths, special effects and art shows, and much more- This is truly an exciting opportunity for anyone who is within driving or flying distance, because of its wide range of scifi coverage. Just to give you a small idea, here's a list of scfi genres that were honored during this event:

-The Incredible Hulk TV Series
-The SHAZAM! TV Series
-An American Werewolf In London
-Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan
-Battlestar Galactica TV Series
-Star Trek Voyager Series
-Star Trek Deep Space 9 Series
-Supergirl Comics And Related
-Friday The 13th Films
-Nightmare On Elm Street Films

and so much more!

The pictures below (coming soon) highlight only a glimpse of all that was available to see, hear, taste, smell, and touch- but hopefully they provide some enjoyment to our readers who were "too far beyond the Outer Rim" to attend- If you were present for the event, feel free to email me with your opinions, pictures, feedback, etc, and I will be glad to add your input to our gallery...
