  a bonafide SW fan, proclaiming he even attended CIII.

  Cameron Goes 3D

  It's been rumored for a while that James Cameron was planning to take the
  3D path eventually, and it looks like that time has come.  Cameron will produce
  an as-yet-untitled 3-D adventure thriller movie for Rogue Pictures- more on
  the update here.

  Authentic Death Star Prop On eBay

  A seller currently has a section of the actual ROTJ Death Star prop on eBay,
  starting bid $2750.  It appears to come with a COA, so it looks like a pretty
  true auction.  The other thing that leads me to believe its authenticity is, he
  also has an original 'face hugger' from when the film Aliens was done, so I'd
  be tempted to believe this guy's for real.  Check it out.

  TRU's Big Book 2006: Star Wars Included

  Wow, it seems unbelievable that it's time to start seeing these in the mail
  already, but it's always a good sign for toy collectors.  This year's Big Toy
  Book includes TRU exclusives AT-AT with Biker Scout and AT-AT driver,
  Republic Gunship, Luke's Dagobah X-Wing, along with the new exclusive
  LEGO AT-ST.  That's alot of exclusives!  You can see the pics here and
  here.

  There is also a coupon in the front section to save 10 bucks on the SW
  Titanium Millenium Falcon.  Remember, Republic Credits not accepted..

  The Commtech That Never Was

  When the Episode I figure line hit store shelves, fans found that all of the
  figures had a cool new feature: they spoke!  Well, not really, but with a little
  help from their corresponding action figure stand, we got to hear the voice
  of the character as we would eventually hear them in the movies.  The
  awesome thing about these figures was, not only did the stands have the chip
  in them to allow them to speak, but they would interact with other chips
  from other figures, and furthermore, they were recorded in different languages
  for kids in different countries to hear in their native language..  How cool
  is that?

  Going forward, when the green-carded POTF2 line was to debut (which actually
  became the POTJ line), the figures were supposed to be packed once again
  with this brilliant feature- but sadly, a last-minute decision was made to pull
  the plug on the Commtech chips, leaving a handful to make their way into the
  public as prototypes that never came to be.  I personally got a hold of one of
  these myself a few years back, and it's one of the centerpieces of my
  collection.  And now, there is an auction currently on eBay, where you can
  pick up not only ELEVEN of these chips, but also one of the actual proof
  cards they were to be packaged on..  Starting bid is at $875, but a definitely
  sweet opportunity for the Star Wars collector who must have those little pieces
  of toy history which are quickly forgotten..  Check it out.

  Been busy working on your new Halloween getup, but haven't had time to try
  it on yet?  Be sure to take a moment TONIGHT and try on what you have, to
  be sure it fits..  There's nothing worse than finding out at the 11th hour that
  your seamstress made a boo-boo (yes, pun intended on the BOO).

  CNN Recruits BTDT's TrooperGirl And 501st

  On Saturday, I got to film my television debut. CNN International's
  "FutureSummit" is producing an upcoming episode on the topic of travel in
  Sci-Fi and if it's actually possible. My local garrison of the 501st was called in
  to provide some background stormtroopers for a segment on the concept of
  traveling at lightspeed.

  I'm happy to report that the entire CNN security staff all are Star Wars fans.
  From the moment we got there, the security staff kept finding excuses to
  check up on us, etc. That continued until they commandeered the camera
  used for the tourist CNN Tour group. While the rest of my friends got dressed,
  I posed with the security staff for personal photos. They were a ton of fun,
  and I kind of wish that we had more time to get more pictures.

  Once we were all suited up, we were escorted to the studio with the green
  screen. They decided to film the Star Trek segment before us, so we watched
  as the local trekkies did their thing. After they finished, we helped the show's
  host into Vader armor. Richard Quest, the show's host, is friendly and a very
  nice guy, but just doesn't make a convincing Vader. For those who are
  unfamiliar with him, he's very tall, very slender, and admits that he never
  could really watch Star Wars. We tried coaching him on Vader's stance, way
  of speaking, and behavioral patterns, but Richard never did quite get it. He
  was extremely positive and seemed to be having a good time, so that's what
  counts. Most of our filming was a matter of marching in various directions in
  front of the green screen, grouping up and talking, and other background
  situations that you might encounter on the Death Star. Later, through the
  power of computers, plan to take our various moments and will use us as
  interesting background for Richard Quest. If you're wondering which one is
  me, I'm the second tallest stormtrooper in the bunch.

  Our episode of FutureSummit should be released on Thanksgiving day, on
  CNN International. While the time hasn't been announced yet, I will attempt to
  keep everyone up to date.  Pics here.

  Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination

  

  Take advantage of a great opportunity to see more than 80 props, models and
  costumes from all six Star Wars movies in the Where Science Meets Imagination
  exhibit.  Lucasfilm, Ltd. and the Museum of Science (Boston, Mass.) created this
  $5 million traveling exhibition to show just how close real-world technologies are
  to the transportation technologies and robots in the Star Wars universe.  The
  event is scheduled to go on through 2008.

  Billy Dee Williams has stepped up to be included in the list of voiceovers in the
  new Command and Conquer chapter, Tiberium Wars.  Other stars lending their
  talents include Tricia Helfer (BSG), Michael Ironside (V, Total Recall), and more.

  "This is the most fun I've had since Star Wars!" said Billy Dee Williams in the
  announcement release. "The game's story and universe are immersive and
  drew me right in. I was intrigued by my character, GDI Director Redmond
  Boyle, because he has more depth than I expected from a video game
  personality."

  Parade In The South

  For our readers in the Atlanta area, this Saturday (Oct 21) is the Little Five
  Points annual Halloween parade. If you're a fan of all sorts of costumes, you're
  guaranteed to have a good time at this weekend's Halloween Festival.
  
  The parade starts at 5 pm, and parking in the area is limited. Plan on coming
  early in order to find parking and a good location for your lawn chair. There will
  be family oriented booths, as well as outdoor beer sales, so there will be
  something to do for every member of your family.
