Wars cast.  You can check them out here.

  $271.2MM

As my neighbor always says, "You can lie about numbers, but numbers don't
lie.." That proverb definitely holds true when it comes to Episode III.  Sith is
still in the lead, ahead of Madagascar and the other newbie films out there,
passing the $271MM mark, and, as Obi-Wan says, "always on the move".

Thanks goes out to Cinescape for the stats.

3:30PM - EST

  Let's Be Frank

In celebration of the Anne Frank 75th birthday tribute, Natalie Portman will be

  Happy Memorial Day

Best Wishes to all of you this Memorial Day.  Please take a moment sometime
today, to remember your grandfather, uncle, aunt, or anyone who has fought
over the years to keep this country FREE.  Remember, without them, there
would be no Star Wars, car shows, hitting the shore, or anything you have the
privelege of doing today.  And it's all thanks to them..

As one could expect, Episode III has passed the 200 million mark, and keeps
on chuggin' through the holiday weekend, breaking records as it goes..  This
latest tally is compliments of ComingSoon.net.  To quote a classic game show,
  "Big money, no whammies!"

Have We Written 'Bout Ford.... Late-ly?

Harrison Ford manages to steer clear of most of the Star Wars news these
days, but in the event that you were curious about his most recent
involvements, here's one- Harrison recently narrated a 2nd short film for a
company called Conversation International.  You can check out the film here.

  Ani Goes Bananas

No, this isn't a post on a forthcoming Herbie The Love Bug movie (although
there is one coming).  Cinescape debuts a new member to the Star Wars
realm, who goes by the name of C.C. Banana. He apparently got to ask Lucas
a question about how Jedis die at the recent event, Celebration III.  You can
check out the article here.  And I thought it was corny dressing up as a Royal
  Guard...

the June 6th issue of Us magazine, that attempts to put to rest some rumors
that popped up regarding Episode III.  You can check out the article here.

AmiDana also wanted to remind me the the May 30th issue of Us includes a
big writeup on the "Hunks" of Star Wars.  I'm sure there are some readers of
BTDT who might appreciate that article, but for those like me who are more
into the NON-hunk side of things, I'll mention that the June 6 issue (highlighted
above) sports Jessica Simpson in a bikini on the cover..

eBay Tip Of The Week: The Star Wars Collector Database

Ever wish you had a log of all of your figures, ships, and other Star Wars toys?
Or, how about a one-stop-shop database for your Star Wars store, that already
had all of the Star Wars toy UPC and serial number details, so you could keep
a better handle on your inventory?  Well, if either of these scenarios apply to
you, then you need to check out this auction on eBay.  This online database
allows you to take the info on your existing toy collection or inventory, and
add it right in.  And, in many cases, much of the information on those figures
and related is already in there!  Check it out.

this speed demon.  Click here to check it out.

What Star Wars Means To ME Contest Results

For those of you who have been following the latest contest here at
b4thedarktimes.com, I'm proud to announce the following winners of the
  contest:

First Prize: Don Hinrichs
First Runner-Up: Brant

Please join me in congratulating these 2 individuals for their submissions!  I
have posted all submissions I received here, for all to appreciate.

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, titled "Dedication", I have noticed a common
theme across most of the entries I received.  In many instances, the submitters'
fathers were responsible for introducing these folks to the world of Star Wars..
I am proud to say that I too fall under that category.  And, like others, I plan
to pass on the tradition when my time comes as well.  Thanks to all who
  participated!

10:00PM - EST

  "What a piece of junk!"

You may recall the above being Luke's first thoughts on the Millennium
Falcon, when he saw it in docking bay 94 in Star Wars: A New Hope..

So now the big question: did YOU see the Millennium Falcon in Episode
III?  For those of you who go to watch the movie again soon, be sure
to watch below the ship that Anakin brings in for a crash landing in the
beginning scenes of the film.  There's a ship toward the lower end of the
screen that you might just recognize...

  Dedication

I have to mention that today, I got to go see Episode III for the second
time (within 12 hours for that matter) with my father, who is 62 this year.

My father played a HUGE part in getting me involved with Star Wars,
which I have recently learned was the case with many of my readers as
  well.

Here is a pic of me and my Dad from today's 12PM show, as we stand
under the Episode III sign.  And don't mind the fact that it looks like I got
less than 8 hours of sleep, because I DIDN'T!  Thanks again, Dad..

9:30PM - EST

  Sithmas Eve

The night before the release of a Star Wars film is just about as good as
Christmas Eve.  Some of you may be staying up late tonight to attend the
midnight premiere, but many of those in the working community have to wait
until tomorrow after work to join in on the fun.  Wherever you are or whatever
you do in your daily requiem, if you're a Star Wars fan, this is an exciting time
  regardless.

As the clock winds down, I hope that you share with me the excitement and
anticipation, as we await the arrival of Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith..

  FAN-Dango! A Custom Prequel Trailer

I had to post for my reading community, a fan-made trailer that I think
was very well done in the interest of tying Episodes 1, 2, and 3 together.  I
proudly recommend you to check it out here.  Spoiler content within?  I could
say yes, but I didn't really notice anything that would ruin it for a hard and fast
spoiler-avoider.  Credit goes to BrotherTheFirst.  Enjoy!

Star Wars And Iraq: Six Degrees Of Separation

In a recent interview at CNN.com, it is mentioned how the development
of the Galactic Empire can be paralleled to events in both Iraq and Vietnam.

I don't really think Nam vets, or those over in Iraq really want to compare
their experiences with Star Wars, but I'm sure one could definitely find some
overlap if they really wanted to.  I'm just glad it didn't point back to Kevin
Bacon-  Click here for the full article.

  Time To Get REAL

Are you a true lifetime Star Wars fan, as well as a Star Wars toy and collectible   lover?  Well, here's a chance to score some REAL cool stuff to add into your
collection!  B4TheDarkTimes.com is giving away 25 REAL action stands for
your '95 and up Star Wars figures, absolutely free!  They are awesome for
setting your figures up in custom dioramas, or simply for replacing those
Commtech stands that always seem to leave your figures tipping over and
starting a domino effect.  You can read up more on them here.  Also included
for first prize is a Masterpiece Edition Anakin Skywalker!  The cover of the case
even displays the "old school" Anakin, to remind the winner of the B4 The
  Dark Times
overall theme, Star Wars, the way it WAS.

There will also be a runner-up prize of 10 REAL action stands, and a Limited
  Edition Darth Maul cup!

So what do you have to do to win the stuff?  It's simple-  Write up a small
excerpt entitled "What Star Wars Means To ME".  It can be a plain essay,
poem, haiku, whatever, as long as it captures how the Star Wars saga has
impacted your life..  How you got to have a birthday cake when you were 9
that was shaped like Boba Fett- How you remember the funny smell in your
Aunt Myrtle's car as she took you to see Return Of The Jedi- Or maybe how
your dog ended up with the name "Chewie"..  You get the idea.  Once you've
completed your entry, email it to contest@b4thedarktimes.com.

The contest runs until Wednesday, May 18th, at 11:59PM EST.  Two entries will
be selected for their overall content, and those selections will be the winners.

In the event that the senders cannot be reached, alternate entries will be
selected.  And remember, you can't win unless you enter-  So, what are you
waiting for??  Stop surfing and start writing!!

  Fandango Entangle

Apparently, some folks who have purchased their movie tickets for
Episode III via Fandango have been getting updates indicating although they
placed an order for tickets, they still might not be getting them after all..

My advice is, don't wait until the night of the film to get your tickets out of
the machine.  Print them out ahead of schedule, and have them in hand the
night of the show.  Also, I can't stress enough to get to the theatre early
for the time you are scheduled to see the film.  It has been rumored that
Fandango has also sold more tickets in the past than the capacity a particular
theatre can hold.  Don't let the moment get ruined by some 16-yr old
zit-faced theatre manager who reviews your issue, shrugs their shoulders
without a care, and smirkingly says "sorry".  That's how people get shot..

as the last bit of sand runs out of the hourglass.  It's been a wild ride to
say the least, and I hope that you all have enjoyed the anticipation as
much as I have.  The road to Episode III has been a tough one, as I didn't

  BTDT Flashback: 1984

In early 1984, the hype of ROTJ was coming to a close, but toy sales
were still in full steam-  As seen in this picture, a friend and I play with some
Star Wars toys, after I just scored a new speeder bike for my birthday!  The
great thing about this pic is that my friend brought all of his gear over, crammed
in his Y-Wing box (also seen in the pic)!  Enjoy..
