  "A Story...."

I had to quote one of my favorite Ren and Stimpy episodes for the title of this
post..  Looks like Disney fans will be getting a Woody once more, as it's been
announced that both Tom Hanks and Tim Allen will be providing the voices for
the popular main characters in Toy Story III.  More updates on this topic as
  we have them.

FETT | 10:00AM - EST

  Peter Cullen Feels Prime Again

A dream for many Transformers fans came true yesterday at the San Diego
Comic-Con, as it was announced that Peter Cullen would be providing the voice
of Optimus Prime in the forthcoming live-action film.

His voice was used for the character in the popular cartoon series from the
80s.  More on the update here.

  Updates From Sansweet At Comic-Con

Steve Sansweet shared updates regarding the forthcoming Star Wars animated
series, the highly-anticipated TV live action series, and also IJ4:

[Sansweet said that the animated series is scheduled to premiere in 2008, and the
live action series is aiming to debut before 2010.

"We've been spending the last couple of years building from scratch two new
state-of-the-art digital animation companies, one at Skywalker Ranch and one in   Singapore," Sansweet said. "The scripts for the first batch of shows have been   completed, and Animation is hard at work on the first episodes."

Sansweet also added that David Koepp's script for INDIANA JONES 4 is still a
couple of months away, but the hope is that pre-production can start rolling
by the end of this year, early 2007 at the latest.]

They better get moving on the IJ4 project, escpecially since Harrison Ford just
celebrated his 64th birthday-  Thanks goes to Cinescape for the update.

Happy Birthday To The Funniest Man On The Planet

BTDT is proud to send birthday wishes out to Robin Williams, who is 55 today.
This guy has had me laughing since the first time I saw him on Mork & Mindy.
In High Scool, my best friend and I ended up having his Live At The Met
appearance memorized because we'd watched it so much (ie "I will compare
  and contrast Jesus and Spider-ma-a-n....
").  It was from this performance
where I adapted the joke name of "Sparky" into my insult database..

I must also mention that the whole BTDT staff have his appearance from
  Whose Line Is It Anyway?
on warm-standby at all times, and memorized as
  well.

The guy has also become a heluv-an actor, with outstanding performances in
movies like Good Will Hunting and Dead Poet's Society.  Robin continues to
entertain the world with his talents, and we wish him many more to come.

"Bugs Bunny To Oith- Yeh, I'm Hee"

On this day in 1969, Neil Armstrong was the first man to set foot on the Moon
(well, at least so the TV stations said..).  In yesterday's news on CNN, it was
mentioned that China is already planning expeditions to the Moon and Mars,
so the next decade should be pretty interesting.

FETT | 12:00PM - EST

  Batteries ARE Included

Ever thought it would be possible to have a DECENT car that ran on batteries?
Not one of those POS hybrid-lookin' thingys that has 3 wheels and just enough
room for an Oompa Loompa, but a SWEET ride that was also good for the
  environment?

Well, if you've been hoping for something that meets that criteria, you gotta
check out the Tesla.  Hello?  Batman?

New studies show that an ancient reptile once had triangular wings like one
would find on today's fighter jets..  More on the discovery here.

FETT | 9:00PM - EST

  My Pet Rock

This stone located in New Hampshire continues to baffle local area experts.
It has engravings on it, along with holes drilled in the top and bottom.  I'd
say what it looks like to me, but I always end up getting my hand slapped for
suspecting something for being NOT of this Earth..  So, I'll stop there.

BTDT DVD Pick: Ultraman, Season I

It is a time of celebration-  To commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Ultraman,

the entire first series is available in a 3-DVD set.  The collection also offers
special features on the first DVD, including audio commentaries from the team
who converted the eps over to English.  Ironically, they are also the group who
worked the same magic for the Speed Racer series.  You know, the lines
like "whooooooaaaaaaaaaa!!!" and "be CARE-ful SPEED!!!"

Check back soon for a detailed review of this latest release.  In the meantime,
pick up your own copy of the DVD here.

Ride Ride Ride Let It Ride

BTO couldn't have said it any better..  For those of the 2-wheel breed, tomorrow
is YOUR day.  "National Ride Your Bike To Work Day" is here!

Just don't listen to pessimists like Unleasht, who say if you wear a tie to work
you can't ride to work..  Those are words spoken by someone who wears a
clip-on, and carries one of those old long-handled 80s combs.

  Raiders Of The Lost Script

In the on-going IJ saga, we get an update from Steven Spielberg on what
issues have been transpiring regarding the curse of the IJ4 script.  His take
on the scenario actually does help to make more sense-  You can read the
  dirt here.

Keep your eyes on the Vault

One of my favorite sites, Avault, is apparently resigning and will be back in a
  few weeks.
Good luck, fellas. Redesigns are never easy. Probably why our site still gets hit

  360s on the Moon.

I have always loved what we humans choose to do the first time we -COUGH-
landed -HACK- on the moon...Setup a living habitat capable of sustaining life?
Nope..   Search for ice or any possible signs of alien life? Naw...
Drill for Oil? ...New missle defense system?...........WIFI?

Hell no, we're gonna do doughnuts, you know, like in NASCAR after they win?
We're all just good ole boys. Never meanin no harm.

  Here Lies Ken Lay-Lies

I love sweet, juicey conspiracy theories, especially that one where people doubt
that we ever landed on the moon, that one is great. Here is a new one that I
choose to instantly believe, because, I want to.
People are starting to think that Ken Lay never died.....
"One conspiracy theory finds it a little too convenient that former Secretary of
State Colin Powell was treated for altitude sickness at the same Aspen hospital    where Lay was pronounced dead the day before. Powell was in the resort town
to participate in a panel discussion, but the theory purports that he was actually    there to bring Lay passports, other ID and an escape plan."

Personally, I think that Evil Overlord Cheney- the Necromancer, just
resurrected Lay during the funeral by muttering a Druid incantation....
You cant kill evil that powerful.
You can only send it back to Hell and wait for it to resurface.
  Come on people....

  "Houston, We Have A Problem..."

When the government happens to 'misplace' something old that was in a box,
we could understand that, right?  Sure..  Maybe even a lot of 5 boxes gone
missing, is something that would make one say "yeah well those things happen"..

But when you get wind that 698 out of 700 boxes of original Apollo 11 photo
  footage
are simply 'misplaced' (yeah, the actual moon landing in 1969), it simply
reaks of conspiracy.  You be the judge..

The man who shot first celebrates his 64th birthday today-  I've been a fan

Hopefully Calista is helping to keep him in shape for Indy IV. Enjoy the day

  Skyguard, Skynet- Same Difference

According to this article, the US Army and the Northrop corporation is in a
joint venture with Israel to create SKYGUARD, a laser bubble that allows
protection of airports from rocket and missile attacks.

No matter how you say it though, it just means one thing: time to get off the
grid.  I wonder if North Korea got the memo on this one yet.

  Original Fire......FOX

This post is actually two-fold-  First, the scoop on the latest Audioslave cut, from
their forthcoming album "Revelations".  Yesterday, WMMR out of Philly launched
this new tune out across the airwaves to give everyone a little taste of the
SLAVE to come.  They did a good job of leaving SLAVE fans like myself hanging,
waiting 50 minutes past the original start time to spin the record..  Their alibi?
To avoid the hackers and downloaders of the world..  Guess what folks, you
failed!  Anyway..   Unleasht and I compared notes after checking it out, and
agreed upon the following: although it was great to hear new material on the
way from this stellar 2-in-1 megaband combo, the track seemed to be missing
on all counts.  It sounded like their lead singer, Chris Cornell, was holding back,
guitar and bass riffs sounded somewhat light on their typical RAGE-ish style,
and, I think Unleasht put it best when he said he didn't even recall hearing
any drums on the track.  In all honesty, I can understand if they're toning down
on Cornell's part- I'd hate to see a legendary singer of his calibur fall victim to
ruined vocal chords; an issue that has befallen predecessors like Steve Perry or
Robert Plant.  But the music has always helped to carry this band along as well,
and when I compare a cut like this to one like "The Whip" (that's still waiting to
find its place on a SLAVE CD I might add), it definitely falls short.  At any rate,
glad to see these guys continuing on, and we keep our fingers crossed that
other surprises await with the new CD.

Part II of this post revolves around what I will call the Fresca of web browsers,
Firefox (with IE and Netscape being the Coke and Pepsi of course)-  It appears
that more and more web surfers are choosing Firefox over the "other leading
brand" in their ongoing quest to keep the web free of corporate lockdown.
  More on the update here.

FETT | 3:00PM - EST

It's All Fun And Games Until..

-somebody mentions racism..  A new PSP (PlayStation Portable) ad shows a white   woman dressed in all white, grabbing the face of a black woman, to promote
the new WHITE PSP.  As a result, can you guess what's resulted??  YES!
Race controversy!  "Johnny, tell 'em what he's WON!!!"

The funny part is, the ad isn't being shown in the U.S. because of the country's
issues with racism.  BUT, it's OK to be shown in Europe and, specifically,
Amsterdam..  That makes the U.S. look really great, doesn't it??  Nowhere in
this ad does it make reference to anything like "cracker", "honkie", slavery,
Uncle Remus, NOTHING. It's a photography gig, applying a usage of
color- THAT IS IT.  This crap is really getting old..

It's an AD, people..  Suck it up and move along.  Nothing to see here.

Some forward thinking Swedes are trying to offer some protection but
I'd rather complain about another form of insurance. In the last few years
We seen the development of 'Pet Health Insurance', 'Legal Insurance' and now

I like the idea this surrounds, but I just dont want another form of insurance.

  "IT'S........... AWAY!!!!!!!!"

After days of safety debates, weather spoofs and other minor flim-flam,
the Space Shuttle Discovery has finally made its way to Space.  At 2600MPH,

  "Dear David..."

So how cool would it have been, to have the opportunity to have the original
Darth Vader, as your own personal pen pal, while the Original Trilogy was being
made?  Someone who could fill you in on alot of behind-the-scenes details
happening at the time?  Well, for one lucky lady named Rosemary, this was a
  reality..

The cool thing about this story is, one lucky eBayer will now have the chance
to own a true collection rarity: 30 pieces of correspondence between this
person and Mr. Prowse himself, dating from 1978-1995!  Guess it just goes to
