  BTDT Flashback: Marvelmania

In honor of the NY Comic-Con happening this weekend, we here at BTDT thought
it would be cool to highlight a piece of comic book history- way back in 1969,
to honor the comic artwork of Jack Kirby, a collector club known as
  Marvelmaniacs w
as created, and allowed comic fans to order posters, related
stationery, and other cool items with their favorite characters on them.  This, in
conjunction with the actual comics, took the Nation by storm..  As for Marvel,
  well, the rest is history.

If you're a Marvel fan, be sure to check out this example of one of the
Marvelmaniac catalogs out on eBay- it truly is a comic treasure.

  Animated Aliens Series?

Well stop yer grinnin' and drop yer linen..  It looks like everybody's quick to get
on the animated series bandwagon now-  We already know of a Trek animated
series in the works, Clone Wars is continuing on, an animated Spaceballs series is
coming in the near future, and now this little tidbit from aintitcoolnews.com,
complete with image stills.  The current plan is to call it Aliens: War Games.

I think they all just need to stop and do what was done back in the old Hanna
Barberra days: have one show like Scooby Doo, where all they can have all of
these guys on as guest stars..  That way when the pilot episodes bomb, there is
still a series to continue on with.  Just think: Ripley, Hicks and Hudson on week 1,
Picard and Kirk on week 2, etc..

Mayhew was responsible for playing Minoton, a bronze statue brought to

Star Wars 3D In A Holding Pattern?

In an ongoing effort to try to keep tabs on this, we posted last month that
progress was in fact being made with the Star Wars 3D project, and the article
even went as far as to highlight a specific scene which had been completed
  using the new technology.

But now, according to this article at CanMag, it looks as though Lucas may be
shelving the project for the time being.  BTDT has decided to stop churning the
rumor mill, and has gone straight to the horse's mouth, in-three, who is

After Episode I had its moment in the public eye, Jake Lloyd seemed to pretty

Jingle All The Way, but after The Phantom Menace came and went, there was
only 1 film in which he was included, called "Madison" in 2001.

Lloyd was last seen on MTV in early 2006, where he provided an interview
and shared with viewers why he seemed to go off the grid- you can read the
  highlights of the interview here.

We wish Jake the best and hope to see him back on the big screen soon.

  BTDT Gamer Training Week #4

Jade Jedi provides us with the following great Jedi Academy gaming tip:

Learn to use hybrid stance; don't get stuck using the same stance for a whole
duel. Changing stance can surprise your opponent and put them off guard- just
as they're getting used to your yellow stance you hit them with a big red hit, or
duck in for a quick blue hit between their red swings.  The most under-used
stance would have to be blue, due to the fact that it does little damage and has
not got a great deal of control. But if practiced and used correctly, the blue
stance can be very handy and can cause your opponent to re-think their
  strategy.

This goes for all saber types: single, dual and staff- don't become predictable..
learn the other stances.  If you use staff, practice your single yellow- or if duals
is your thing then learn to use single blue stance and practice your timing, that
  goes for all saber types.

IJ4 Update: Janusz Kaminski, Director Of Photography

It was announced this week in this article that Janusz Kaminski will be at the
helm of IJ4 as Director of Photography- the last Jones film had Douglas
Slocombe in this role, who actually retired after The Last Crusade was finished.

This director has been involved in well-known projects such as The Terminal
and War of The Worlds, so his resume qualifies for such a role as the one needed
for the next lineup in the Indiana Jones saga.

Kaminski mentions in the article that he will be lensing the film "all over the world,"
specifically in jungle locales and the previously mentioned Los Angeles.  Stay
  tuned for more updates!

John Williams In Concert In L.A.

Some of you may recall back in the early part of 2006, John Williams, Steven
Spielberg and Martin Scorsese teamed up for a two-part concert in New York
City that presented a night of great film music by composers Bernard Herrmann
and John Williams.  The idea was so well-received, they decided to take the
  show on the road.

The trio is now taking the act on the road, with a newly announced show in Los
Angeles set for March 5. Williams will lead the Los Angeles Philharmonic in the
beautiful Walt Disney Concert Hall, with both Spielberg and Scorsese reprising
their duties as masters of ceremonies.
  More on the event here.
