ESB Lovers Rejoice: Happy Birthday Irvin Kershner!

Birthday wishes go out to the man who made ESB the best film of the saga
(thus far, and in my opinion), Irvin Kershner.  Irvin was born in 1923 in
Philadelphia, PA.  His lengthy career is filled with involvement in many
other sci-fi projects, horror movies, even James Bond!  You can check
  out the list here.

  BTDT Flashback: Luke And Biggs

As a kid, I remember reading through my Star Wars Storybook, and always

At any rate, here's the pic from my actual Storybook, that I still have today,
  28 years later..

  SWTV: It's Official

According to this report at BBC.com, the word is officially out that Star Wars will
be moving to TV after the release of Episode III.  The funny thing is, I keep
hearing the ad in my head from when the Special Edition was released, regarding
a generation only being able to see the films on the "small screen", and now
the saga is headed back that direction anyway!  Thanks goes out to Count
  Brumbaugh for that news update!

UPDATE:

  Happy Birthday, Hayden!

Birthday wishes go out to the man who has filled the shoes of Anakin
Skywalker for the final round of Star Wars!  Born April 19th, 1981 in
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, this guy has really come a long way.

One of his first roles was in a film called "In The Mouth Of Madness", where you
see young Hayden riding a bicycle in a world totally bizarre and overtaken by
evil (yes, that was him!).  You can read more on his filmography here.

There's just one thing that's really getting to me here about Hayden's
birthday... Just 2 days ago, we were celebrating the birthday of Anakin's
Master in ROTS, Ian McDiarmid..  Are we sure there's no connection between
  those 2???

  Happy Birthday, Hayden..

7:00AM - EST

  One Month To Sith

Well, we're down to the final stretch, with less than 30 days to go. Are you

  Ever Wonder About Typos?

Typos on Star Wars merchandise are quite a regular occurrence (much to
the dismay of Hasbro's QA department), but this post goes to show that the
issue has been around since long before Hasbro even knew what Star Wars was..

In 1977, a special promo offer was available, thanks to Wonder Bread, where
kids just learning about the Force could pick themselves up 16 collectible trading
cards.  This set of cards highlighted most of the characters we've all come to
affiliate with the Star Wars saga, and in addition, some of the ships that those
characters piloted.  One of the ships highlighted is the Millennium Falcon-
However, as shown in this scan of the trading card, someone didn't get the
memo stating that the ship's name should contain TWO 'n's, not just one..

It's nice once in a while to reflect on such minute details that took place when
Star Wars was still green and growing.  And for whomever made the boo boo,
don't get upset..  Everybody makes mistakes!

5:00PM - EST

Birthday Wishes To The Most Evil Man Alive

his portrayal of Senator Palpatine/Darth Sidious/The Emperor is 58!  He has had
a very impressive career, which you can read up on here.  Happy Birthday Ian!

9:00AM - EST

BTDT Flashback: Spirit Of Obi-Wan Mail-Away

In 1997, to create hype for the Star Wars OT Special Edition being released to
theatres, Frito-Lay ran a promo for the first "holographic" figure of the
Star Wars line, known as the "Spirit Of Obi-Wan".

The promo was a huge success, and many fans ended up eating quite a large
volume of both regular Lays and new PIZZA Lays potato chips, to get one
of these little guys shipped to their door..  To check out the promo offer,

Ever since the original trilogy release in 1977, mail-away offers have always
been a big hit. If any mail-away offers are to be released for Episode III, we'll
be sure to let you know!

It's become almost a tradition for George Lucas to push the envelope during the
editing phase of his films- And as of today, April 5th, it's been mentioned that
he is STILL making updates to Episode III, with May 19th just around the corner.

Keep It Real - REAL Action Stands

Do you like setting up your figures in diorama settings, or just like to "free" them
from their bubble prisons?  Well, if you're an opener, then REAL stands go
with your figure collection like milk goes with cookies..  The stands are crystal
clear, and are perfect for re-enacting that battle in Episode I, or even for
making your own personal layout of the Clone Wars.

  "Ev-ry-one-A-round-The-World   C'mon!"

Sorry for the Kool And The Gang reference, but it seemed appropriate- Celebration
III is just around the corner..  For those who have never been to one of these
events, just think of every CON you have ever heard of, and then combine all of
them together in your mind..  That pretty much sums up what to expect with
Celebration III..  Costumes, cast members, toys, memorabilia, and more can be
found at an event of this magnitude.

The event is scheduled from April 21st to the 24th, so if you're still on the fence
about making the trip, you better get on the move!  To get an idea of the things
you run into, check out this pic of me with a little guy I made friends with when
I was at CII in 2002..
